Description
English: The clarinet belonged to freed slave and successful businessman Charlie Young from Jefferson, Texas. Charlie played in the popular East Texas band "Hamp Walker's Colored Band" during the late 1800s and early 1900s. The instrument is part of an African-American display at the Jefferson Historical Museum.
