English: The Celsius and Kelvin scales are shown in a thermometer. Temperatures that are the base for the modern definition of the Celsius scale are shown in black: water's triple point (0.01 °C, 273.16 K) and absolute zero (-273.15 °C, 0 K). Temperatures that were previously used as a definition for the magnitude of the Celsius degree appear in gray: the chilling 0.00 °C, 273.15 K) and boiling points of water (100 °C, 373.15 K). It can be appreciated that both scales have the same unit magnitude. Also, the original Celsius scale is essentially the same as the new one.
Español: Se muestran sobre un termómetro de mercurio, las escalas Celsius y Kelvin. De color negro aparecen las temperaturas que sirven de base para la definición moderna de la escala Celsius: el punto triple del agua (0.01 °C, 273.16 K) y el cero absoluto (-273.15 °C, 0 K).
