Description
English: Vicinity of Beersheba (British Mandate Palestine before 1948, Israel after 1948) with information from 1940 to 1960. This is a joined section of sheet Beersheba and sheet Hebron of 1:100000 series maps produced by the Survey of Palestine. Most features are from 1941-2 with minor road corrections in 1946. Items overprinted in a purple color are due to the Survey of Israel in the 1956-60 time period.

The grid lines are 1 km apart.

The upper one third (from Hebron sheet) says "Compiled from Large & Small Scale Surveys; Partly Revised 1941-42. See Reliability Diagram [which indicates that this part was revised]; Roads revised by 13 C. Fd. Survey Coy. R. E., Oct. 42; Compiled, drawn & reproduced by Survey of Palestine; Reprinted with minor road revision S. of P. May 1946". It also says (in Hebrew): "Printed by the Survey of Israel, Oct 1956; Information partially updated Sep 1956".

The lower two thirds (from Beersheba sheet) says "Compiled from various sources. See Reliability Diagram [which does not indicate a 1941-42 revision]; Compiled, drawn & reproduced by Survey of Palestine; Reprinted with minor road revision S. of P. July 1946". It also says (in Hebrew): "Printed by the Survey of Israel, July 1960; Information and settlements updated, March 1958".
