[edit]DescriptionAlfred-Lion-Steg 01.jpg |
English: Alfred-Lion-Steg, here in construction in October 2011, with the listed building General-Pape-Straße № 62/66, built in 1895/98, former headquarter of the Prussian Landwehr-inspection, today part of the Robert-Koch-Institute. The Alfred-Lion-Steg is a pedestrian and cyclists' bridge in Berlins Borough Tempelhof-Schöneberg, Germany. The 93,30 meters long dual-span construction of steel tube was opened in November 2012. It leads the Hertha-Block-Promenade of the also new built Ost-West-Grünzug (german for: east-west-greenbelt) in the north of the railway station Berlin Südkreuz over the lines of the Dresden and Anhalt Railway and connects the district Schöneberg from the Rote Insel (literally, Red Island) with the district Tempelhof at the General-Pape-Straße. The bridge is named after Alfred Lion, co-founder of the jazz record label Blue Note. |
