English: Dhole (Cuon alpinus) in Baluran National Park, East Java, Indonesia.
Bahasa Indonesia: Ajag dikategorikan IUCN pada status genting (Endangered), peran pada ekosistem sangat penting sebagai predator dan juga sebagai scavenger. Sebagai scavenger, ajag memiliki tugas sebagai "pembersih" bangkai satwa liar yang mati secara alami atau serangan predator. Aksi ini juga secara tidak langsung bekerja sama dengan decomposer species untuk menguraikan sisa bangkai satwa di alam. Pakan alami ajag antara lain lutung, tikus, ikan dan burung. Biasanya ajag berburu saat malam hari hingga waktu menjelang pagi. Foto ini diambil di Taman Nasional Baluran, ketika sekelompok ajag (2-6 individu) di savana mendadak mendekati saya yang belum menyadari adanya bangkai rusa yang masih segar tepat di sebelah tempat saya mengamati burung merak.
