544 Medieval Suspension mount.jpg |
||
Description |
English: Pendant suspension mount, the object is rectangular 38mm long 8mm wide. One end terminates in a circular vertical loop with a single rivet hole in the centre, this still has iron corrosion in the centre. The other end has two oval projections, there is a hole in the centre of each with iron corrosion in each of the holes, this is probably where a heraldic mount was suspended. The reverse is plain on the rectangular plate, while the face has a series of linear and oval chip carved motifs within a recessed border. the artefact is copper alloy, there is only slight remains of the original surface, most has flaked away as a result of corrosion leaving a dark brown pitted surface. |
