Description
English: Key, this has a circular loop 16mm diameter, with a rectangular cross-section 2mm by 1.5mm, the back half is broken away, this is an old break. The shank 26mm long, has an oval cross-section (5mm thick, 4mm wide) which gently tapers towards a point. Three quarters of the way along the shaft is the bit this has an angled shoulder at the top, with a single groove in the centre of the back section and a double groove at the front. Excavated examples have been found form sites such as and are dated to the 14th century.
