Description
English: Air Defenders from the 5th Battalion, 7th Air Defense Artillery, welcomed home in a ceremony in Baumholder, Germany, on October 23, 2023. The 5-7 was the first to deploy to Poland for the US PATRIOT mission in early 2022. This mission has since become part of a larger rotational force, adding to a multinational effort to enhance security and defense measures in Eastern Europe. The redeployment of 5-7 follows a transfer of authority ceremony in Poland where the 52D Air Defense Artillery Brigade assumed operational control of the 1st Battalion, 62nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, who took over 5-7's mission in Poland.
