Impressionisten- und Wohnmuseum im ehemaligen Wohnsitz von Sidney und Jenny Brown-Sulzer, Mitbegründerfamilie der Firma Brown Boveri & Cie, heute ABB. Renoir, Cézanne, Monet - die vom renommierten Architekten Karl Moser 1900/01 erbaute Villa Langmatt beherbergt eine herausragende Sammlung von Kunstwerken des französischen Impressionismus sowie eine Sammlung venezianischer Veduten aus dem 18. Jh. Seltene Keramikobjekte und Teppiche aus Ostasien und Europa bilden einen weiteren Sammlungsschwerpunkt. Die Wohnräume sind mit erlesenem französischem Mobiliar ausgestattet und laden zum Verweilen ein; sie vermitteln auf anschauliche Weise den Lebensstil einer Industriellenfamilie in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Ein Picnic im historischen Park rundet Ihren Besuch im Museum Langmatt ab. Das Museum zeigt jährlich ein bis zwei Sonderausstellungen. Die 2006 ins Leben gerufene Ausstellungsreihe "Sommergäste" zeigt Arbeiten zeitgenössischer Künstlerinnen und Künstler, die sich während mehreren Monaten mit den reichen Sammlungsbeständen des Museums Langmatt auseinandergesetzt haben. Neben Sonderausstellungen bietet das Museum Langmatt im Einklang mit den Jahreszeiten und Festen eine breitgefächerte und vergnügliche Palette von Veranstaltungen für Gross und Klein an. Zur Sommersonnenwende am 21. Juni findet die traditionelle Picnic-Etude im Park statt.
