This file was initially tagged by NitinMlk as Copyvio (copyvio) and the most recent rationale was: copied from https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-15936172. Subject died in 1966. Should be discussed to determine country of origin, and whether it meets that country's PD requirements. King of ♥ 03:13, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Comment – The pic is copyrighted to BBC, as it is clear from this link. More specifically, it is copyrighted to BBC India, as it is clear from this reproduced article of International Tribune ("an Asian-American newspaper published in the United States"[1]) which states, "Brajesh Singh. Photo by BBC News India." Note that the version published in the American newspaper is probably the oldest version available on the net. The pic itself seems to be taken during the very last days of the subject.
So the copyright status of this pic is to be decided by COM:INDIA. Template:PD-India-photo-1958 can be applicable if someone can show that the pic "was created before 1958", "published prior to 1 January 1961", or "its author died prior to 1 January 1961."
In short, this remains copyrighted to BBC India unless someone can show that it meets one of the aforementioned conditions. - NitinMlk (talk) 21:18, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: Copyrighted by BBC India. And certainly not PD in USA. --Yann (talk) 08:01, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
