This file was previously tagged as missing a source, because it gives only a website as the source of an old photograph. The problem tag has been removed so I replace it by a DR: no author, no date (pre-1911 though), no clear ground for PD-old status (for me). Eusebius (talk) 21:36, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

 Keep Photo of a man born 1815. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 21:37, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please focus. You have arguments, so please don't just use the irrelevant part of the issue. --Eusebius (talk) 21:41, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Reading the site, it seems most likely that these are self-portraits. Done in the 1870's or so. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 22:00, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete No evidence. Without any facts it is just as likely that a 20-year-old took the image in 1905 and lived to be 75, making the image non-free for another two decades. To clarify this evidence is needed, and if none comes the image needs to be deleted sadly, because copyright is a serious issue. Hekerui (talk) 23:37, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
"Just as likely"? Are you serious? /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 23:41, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Without any evidence you're guessing, that's the point. Hekerui (talk) 23:47, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am estimating the subject's age. The Nancy photo was made not long after Gratia's return from the UK. And File:Gratia-a-son-chevalet.JPG is very very likely a double self-portrait. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 23:51, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, through OTRS, for another matter. He didn't answer, unfortunately (it was about two months ago). --Eusebius (talk) 16:40, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The uploader was commissioned to design the website, but that doesn't mean that he knows "everything about this photo". You should rather get in touch with Yves Anfreville, the official contact. As for your unanswered OTRS request, you may want to try his contact page at http://rv-piraud.vuckor.com/Xavier, 00:23, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep First, this is clearly photographs, and not painted self-portraits. On File:Gratia-Nancy.JPG, I would say Gratia is around 60, and I would date the photo before 1880. On File:Gratia-a-son-chevalet.JPG, I would say he is in his seventies, therefore I would date the photo before 1890. I'm also refering to this photo where he is even older, probably around 90. You would have a more precise date if you get the date of the paintings he is making. On these grounds, I'd say it's safe to keep them. — Xavier, 00:23, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Gratia was experimenting with photography - I believe that the later one is a photographic selfportrait, of him painting a self-portrait. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 00:36, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I may be wrong but I doubt there were automatic shutters at that time, and I see no manual command in any of his hands. — Xavier, 02:10, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
