editI'm very sorry. I only uploaded this file and I made a mistake (I was the beginner then) - I didn't put information about author. I will try to find this information on English Wikipedia but I'm not sure about result. Best regards. Ludmiła Pilecka (talk) 23:31, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- I found the person who uploaded that file at en-wiki and ask him to confirm if he's the author but the user was unactive till November. We'll see. Ludmiła Pilecka (talk) 00:20, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- OK, I see. Thank you. --Monfornot (talk) 00:39, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

this photo now has a licsence of all rights reserved. please note this on your all pages containing this photo or remove it, thanks tr-x, i am the origional creator of this photo.
- Hi, nice picture. Right now it seems to have an "Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 2.0 Generic" license - it isn't suitable for Wikimedia Commons but it is not "all rights reserved" as you mentioned. I'm not sure if you can change the license type of the content once you have released it. But anyway - thanks for the note. --Monfornot (talk) 16:07, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
File:Village atlas.jpeg
editThe correct reason for deletion is "no source" and "no permission". The uploaded photo stated the fr@wiki as the source, but, what about the original source?. If we look into Fichier:Village atlas.jpeg we can read "image: "Pascal Poublan " http://www.voyages4x4.com autorisation accordée par mr Pascal Poublan:[email protected] village du Haut Atlas". With this information I've searched trough OTRS and only found this ticket. The ticket I've found doesn't say anything about the image in question nor its permission status. You can try to reach fr:Utilisateur:Elfix, a french speaker OTRS member for more information about this ticket. If the image shows to have a permission for its release under a free license, let me know and I will restore it. Cheers! KveD (talk) 21:50, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for checking up, no big deal. --Monfornot (talk) 10:17, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
Tip: Categorizing images
edit
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 06:08, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- Image:Gibson Desert and moon from Alfred & Marie Range.jpg is uncategorized since 13 April 2009.
- I did add a category, but forgot to remove the Uncategorized template. --Monfornot (talk) 07:29, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Wikimedia Commons does not accept derivative works of non-free works such as File:Carhenge_salmon.jpg. It only accepts free content, which is images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Reproductions of copyrighted works are also subject to the same copyright, and therefore this file must unfortunately be considered non-free. For more information, please read Commons:Derivative works and Commons:Freedom of panorama. You can ask questions about Commons policies in Commons:Help desk.
The file you added has been deleted. If you believe that this file was not a derivative work of a non-free work, you may request undeletion.

- It was reviewed by the FlickreviewR and has the cc-by-sa-2.0 license. What seems to be the problem? --Monfornot (talk) 05:46, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- It's a modern sculpture in the US. And sadly there is no freedom of panorama for sculptures in the US: see COM:FOP#United States. Trycatch (talk) 12:29, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- All right then, noted. --Monfornot (talk) 13:04, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
