Hello, Ileana n!

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

My copyrights

edit

This is a photo of pope John Paul II i have since some time ago, i upload it to my computer, and i want to publish it. It is a casuallity that it is found on internet very easy! Either, religion should be free! Ok Msgr Camaldo's photo isn't mine, but the one of the Blessed John Paul II is mine, really mine. It is an OFFICIAL PORTRAIT that can be distributed around the globe. The photo of John Paul II, is one they distributed on 1979, for his visit to Mexico, i also have another one of 2005 when he died, i also have a photo of Paul VI, of a blessing he gave to my house in 1968.

Dear Ileana n, i need your help, i made the article on wikipedia spanish of Msgr. Francesco Camaldo, but i need a photo of him to put on the article, can you help me please?

Another question. If i upload another photo using copyright that says to a webpage? --JorgeE10 (talk) 13:07, 6 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Si

edit

Nominaciones a borrado

edit

Autopatrol given

edit

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you.

Please be careful with uploading derivative works of copyrighted content. For example, files like File:Lepidodendron ophiurus.JPG could be an infringement of copyright of the Natural History Museum. -- RE rillke questions? 20:22, 6 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Creative Commons

edit

Hola Ilieana n:

A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Juan Manuel "Rifle" Varela.jpg, is missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted.

If you created the content yourself, enter Own as the source. If you did not add a licensing template, you must add one. You may use, for example, GFDL or Cc-zero to release certain rights to your work.

If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

Copyvio tagging

edit

Please be more careful when tagging images as copyvio, such as File:Bizarrap ftt.jpg. In general, you should only use the Copyvio tag if you find another image online that is both 1) older than the Wikimedia upload; and 2) of the same resolution or larger. Additionally, it is recommended that you supply a link to a specific external site rather than a page of Tineye or Google reverse search results, as different users might get different results and it can be hard to tell which site you are using as definitive proof of a copyvio. For mere suspicions of copyvio, you can use Delete instead.

In this case, the uploader has uploaded three images, all at full resolution with Canon EOS Rebel T7 in the EXIF, which is pretty strong evidence that it is own work. For a 2019 upload, it is not unusual that other people will download the image from Commons and use it online. Another photo by the same uploader, File:Trueno ftt.jpg, has been nominated for deletion and kept. -- King of ♥ 02:28, 28 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
