Donkey Knog

edit

Hello. My pictures was submited to be deleted. But my picture is a cropped image from the original of a Donkey Kong Game and watch. File:Donkey Kong II Game & Watch by Nintendo (cropped).jpg So why does mine have copyright, while the original, which is the same picture doesnt? --Alvaro Marques Hijazo (talk) 22:47, 18 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

(talk page stalker) Original deleted as well. --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 01:09, 20 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Angel Labruna manager.jpg

edit

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Angel_Labruna_manager.jpg was submited to be deleted. This image is in the public domain because the copyright of this photograph, registered in Argentina, has expired. (Both at least 25 years have passed after the photograph was created, and it was first published at least 20 years ago, Law 11.723, Article 34 as amended, and Berne Convention Article 7 (4)). The evidence: Angel Labruna died in 1983. --FairWinds (talk) 07:07, 22 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at educational media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. The expression “educational” is to be understood according to its broad meaning of “providing knowledge; instructional or informative”. Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote. If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there. Otherwise, consider an alternative outlet. If you think that the deletion was in error because the contribution really was in scope, you can appeal it at Commons:Undeletion requests, giving a reason why it fits our scope to help others evaluate the matter. Thank you for your understanding.

About deletion request for File:Lev matematik.jpg

edit

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Lev_matematik.jpg This is a painting of someone who died in 870. The painting looks like it is made around that time, so the painter is dead for well over 100 years and the painting therefor is in the public domain. It is a painting, a two-dimensional piece of artː whoever was the photographer of this picture does not matter. Why would it be removed? I would like to keep it. How is this porn? It is a full body picture showing an erect micropenis. Please removed deletion request. This is a genuine and valid picture showing an erect micropenis from a fully body angle. Micro1522 (talk) 04:24, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

These pictures are taken from my personal collection of Military Plaques and badges and on checking many reference books on New Zealand Militaria can find no reference to these items been under any copyright, as these items were produced in the hundreds if not thousands for display and distribution. Please clarify which Wikimedia Licence these items should be under. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rneil (talk • contribs) 04:27, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Rneil: If you don't own the copyright, nor cannot show that a work is in the public domain then please don't upload it to Commons. If unsure, then please start at Commons:Copyright and if still uncertain, then please use the forum linked from that page. The items my have been produced in the thousands, however, that may have been by the copyright owner, or that may be in breach of copyright.  — billinghurst sDrewth 10:28, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

File:Countries driving on the left or right 1900.svg

edit

Hello.

Can you make these corrections in File:Countries driving on the left or right 1900.svg?

In 1900, these places drove on the left and thus need to be colored in blue:

  • Austro-Hungarian Empire
  • Bosnia
  • Portuguese Timor (East Timor)
  • South Sudan (then part of Anglo-Egyptian Sudan)
  • Aden Colony (South Yemen)

In 1900, these places drove on the right and thus need to be colored in red:

  • Canadian province of Alberta
  • Turkish Ottoman province of North Yemen
  • South Korea (then part of a unified Korea)

Please see the articles en:Left- and right-hand traffic and en:List of countries with left-hand traffic and the sources.

Thank you.
