Source of derivative work is not properly indicated: File:Flags map 2013.PNG
editThis file may be deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Flags map 2013.PNG, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |

Add ship photos please
editHi. Thank you for images of cruise ships, I like it. Can you please add some images of the 1982 Ocean Dream as the Tropicale, the Costa Tropicale, and the Pacific Star, and a image of the Federico C Please! Thanks.
Thanks, Angelgreat (talk) 18:39, 26 January 2016 (CST)
- Hi,
I’m really sorry to answer you so late, i’d been very busy these last weeks. I’m not the owner of these photos of ships, i’ve upload them here with the authorization of their respective owners from an english website, Shipspotting.com. Maybe you could check there if you find some photos and send a mail to the photographs to know if they accept to let you upload some of their photos on Wikimedia Commons...
Sorry to can’t help you more.
Good evening. --Lev. Anthony (talk) 20:00, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

File tagging File:Harmony of the Seas may 2016.jpg
editThis media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Harmony of the Seas may 2016.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT ([email protected]). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Harmony of the Seas may 2016.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

Notification about possible deletion
editSome contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.
If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Warning
editYour conduct on Yamla's talk page has reached the point of harassment ([1], [2], [3], [4], and especially undoing a user's edit to their own talk page and incivility). If you continue to import misbehaviour from a sister project and harass other users, you will be blocked here as well. Эlcobbola talk 08:55, 6 June 2018 (UTC)

editI am retiring from Wikipedia due to being blocked by User:Yamla, I have updated the talk page. From now on, I'll leave everyone else alone. I will still upload pictures here on Wikimedia commons. Angelgreat (talk) 17:21, 7 June 2018 (CST)
I miss Wikipedia
editMan, It's been 3 months since I got blocked, and I still have to wait to be reviewed in 3 more months. I just want to go back. I will stay away from the cruise ship line, but not being able to edit my talk page is worse. Angelgreat (talk) 17:55, 1 July 2018 (CST)
Your account has been blocked
editI don't know what part of this warning you found unclear, but you have continued to import en.wiki issues and harass Yamla. Эlcobbola talk 19:15, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Elcobbola: How was that 'harassment'? I just said that I confessed to have evaded my Wikipedia blocking because the IP a dress was blocked as a result. Can you also revoke my talk page access if you're not going to unblock me here. Angelgreat (talk) 14:26, 2 July 2018 (CST)
- Harassment is "a range of behavior from mild irritation and annoyances to serious abuses" and "it is characteristically repetitive." 1) That was at least your twelfth edit (!!!) to Yamla's talk page related to this issue, despite repeated requests for you to stop ([5], [6], [7], [8]), including "Do not contact me again. Anywhere. Ever." [9]; that you persist is harassment; 2) Yamla considers your messages to be harassing, and indeed filed an ANB report indicating he same; 3) Your phrasing of "You win, I quit" is bad faith, as it presupposes Yamla's goal was to make you quit (rather than, say, to improve the project/prevent disruption); that one can "win" implies you are working with an adversarial, battlegound mentality. If you had really "quit", you would have simply done so. We both know Yamla would have, and has, no interest in your proclamation. You are using the Commons to further a dispute on another project; that you were merely "confess[ing]" is disingenuous. I'll revoke your access per your request. Эlcobbola talk 19:59, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
- I've restored your ability to edit your talk page per this request. Fair warning: your constant changing of your mind and declarations of quiting/retiring are at the line of being disruptive--probably even beyond it. edit- Oppose. You have not indicated how you wish to contribute to this project in a productive manner. If you simply want to apologize, you may leave your apologies on this user talk page. Guanaco (talk) 20:34, 10 July 2018 (UTC)

Also, if you are unblocked, it is crucial that you do not bother Yamla in any way, and you must not harass anyone else. @Elcobbola: From what I see, I would support reducing this to a temporary block. Is there any sockpuppetry here? Guanaco (talk) 06:07, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
- Technically yes, but to my knowledge only for the purpose of requesting restoration of ability to edit their talk page, as linked above. I'm more concerned that Angelgreat 1) still seems to believe people "hur[t]" actually would want an apology from him/her rather than just to be left alone; 2) has not indicated that they understand the nature of harassment and how their conduct has been inappropriate ("I will leave people alone" is not the same as "I understand my edits have been disruptive/harassing because x,y,z", the latter being what COM:BLOCK requires); 3) expressed no interest in "upload[ing] more pictures that are in the public domain to this project" until they became blocked on this project and indeed has been adjusting the rational for your benefit, not, I believe, to reflect a genuine underlying engagement with the issue(s) (e.g., "I promise that I will leave people alone" is contradictory to "I want to be unblocked because I want to apologize to the people that I have hurted here"); and 4) is exhibiting here the identical behaviour as on en.wiki, which led to progressive removal of talk page access and then email access (indeed, he's been emailing me here inappropriately) - the unblock requests there (and decline rationales) are worth reading. In short, the understanding of the issue and credibility requirements of the blocking policy have not been met in the slightest. I don't see how changing this to a temporary block helps matters. If and when Angelgreat meets those requirements, unblock and we're done--or the rope has been handed them, as the case may be. Эlcobbola talk 09:02, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
- I think that in many cases, giving them rope is the wrong approach, unless we actually want them to go through with it. I would prefer to see Angelgreat become a valued contributor, instead of an indefinitely blocked user with no chance of redemption. I definitely recognize that they're saying what they think we want to hear, but that's extremely common. Hell, I'd say that's the case with most unblock requests, and with appeals to authority, pleas for forgiveness, etc., in general. Clearly, Angelgreat's statement is tailored to my words and then yours. I do think the latest version shows nearly sufficient understanding of the problem. If they're committed to avoiding another bad outcome, and have the mental capacity to do so, they'll abide by it and be careful in general, knowing they're on thin ice.
- Angelgreat has shown persistent, obsessive behavior, and I don't think the root cause on Commons is misunderstanding our policies and expectations. I see extreme frustration and of course desperation to be unblocked on English Wikipedia. Realistically, that unblock is not happening any time soon. My view is that if Angelgreat is blocked for some time, it may temper their emotional reaction and allow them to return in a more rational state, far less likely to cause further disruption. Guanaco (talk) 08:40, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
- "I would prefer to see Angelgreat become a valued contributor, instead of an indefinitely blocked user with no chance of redemption"
- Indefinite is not infinite. I've clearly said "If and when Angelgreat meets those requirements [set forth in COM:BLOCK], unblock."
- "I definitely recognize that they're saying what they think we want to hear, but that's extremely common."
- Yes, by definition, every successful unblock request says what we want to hear. The test is whether what they say is credible. Before he was blocked, Angelgreat was content to harass other users and engage in self-interested whining ([10][11]). Only after he was blocked did he decide he wanted to contribute substantively. That is one example that undermines credibility. Further, Angelgreat's own statement continues simultaneously to say he wants an unblock to apologize to editors and that he will leave other editors alone. These are mutually exclusive, and show excuses are merely being tacked on with no genuine thought. That is another example that undermines credibility. You may wish to re-read my previous comments, as I have unambiguously not advocated for "no chance of redemption" and have instead identified examples of failures to demonstrate credibility, the policy requirement. If a commitment is not credible, we don't unblock.
- "My view is that if Angelgreat is blocked for some time, it may temper their emotional reaction"
- This is explicitly calling for a cool-down block, which is not condoned. Эlcobbola talk 14:44, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
- It's ok if you don't want to unblock me, I understand. You can just deny the unblocking request if you can not unblock me. Angelgreat (talk) 12:21, 17 June 2018 (CST)
- I meant that if Angelgreat is unblocked (given rope) and starts harassing someone again, the chance of another unblock is slim. By my interpretation a "cool-down block" is characteristically preemptive; an escalation, under the guise of preventing escalation. It's not necessary to ignore the reality that behavior often improves, given time. "As blocks are preventative rather than punitive, use a block duration that is proportional to the time likely needed for the user to familiarize themselves with relevant policies and adjust their behaviour." The policy could use some clarification, but that's a discussion for a different place. I'll concede the matter here and let this be indefinite.
- Angelgreat, please start over. Explain in a new request why you should be unblocked. In particular, I want you to answer these questions:
- Why were you blocked, and how will you avoid repeating this behavior?
- Your past edits here have almost all been closely tied to Wikipedia, mostly cropping photos for articles. Without evading your Wikipedia block, what do you intend to contribute here on Commons?
- Try to make your request as complete and as credible as possible in one attempt. Feel free to take as much time as you need to consider these issues. Guanaco (talk) 08:56, 18 July 2018 (UTC)

I still want to be unblocked
edit- Oppose See above discussion. User, yet again, appears to have learned nothing and continues not to engage with the questions asked. Not a single question posed has been answered. "I want to be unblocked because I want to leave the Wikipedia incident alone, thats how I got blocked" - You don't need to be unblocked to leave the incident alone. That reason is a complete non sequitur. "I will not try to harass any users and I will try to make sure to not carry any problems from Wikipedia. I will try to upload and or crop photos." You have to do far better than merely try, and there's no reason to believe you have the ability to actually succeed; again, you haven't even been successful (or even tried) in engaging with the queries above. Эlcobbola talk 18:32, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
- To reviewing admin: This edit just about says it all. This is not a user with the maturity or composure to edit on a collaborative project. Angelgreat, your talk page access will be removed if that happens again. Эlcobbola talk 14:50, 25 July 2018 (UTC)

edit- I see that you've been unblocked on enwiki, and after this length of time, I'm willing to extend some ROPE. @Elcobbola: do you have any particular objections? --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 23:32, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
- @AntiCompositeNumber: I generally find "it's been x amount of time" rationales uncompelling as our unblocking criteria relate to credibility and understanding, not mere passage of time (the earth's revolution about the sun does not impart knowledge.) Given, however, that the root of the block(s) could reasonably be understood to be immaturity, I'm also willing to accept it in this case and extend some ROPE. I would note, however, that "I was recently unblocked on Wikipedia after proving that I am ready to be committed to productive editing" is categorically untrue. Nothing was proven; Angelgreat was were merely unblocked there for the same reason as contemplated here. (Proof, for example, would be using the 2.5 years to contribute productively to simple.wiki, a project of which they are aware, or any other sister project. That was not done.) Further, that despite great eagerness and perennial en.wiki unblock requests, they've contributed nothing there since the unblock outside of archiving and self-indulgence is troubling. I've no objection to extending rope and unblocking, but do not get the impression the above is particularly genuine. I hope to be proven wrong. Эlcobbola talk 23:57, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Elcobbola: Sorry for the late response, but to be clear, I archived my Wikipedia talk page as it was starting to get really crowded. Also, if you look at my Wikipedia talk page, I said on the top that I "may not respond swiftly to queries due to also being busy in real life" and that's because its true that I am busy with real life with school and work. I may not be as active as I was before, but I do intend to abide to the rules while being productive and I have some photos that I want to upload here as well.

Commons media repository
editBased on this comment by you, it seems you have a misapprehension about what Commons is. Commons is a media repository, but as stated in Commons:Project scope, the content must be "public domain and freely-licensed educational media content". You stated "Unless there's more public domain equivalent images of the America here, some of the images needs to be kept for now." This shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the licensing that is required of any content uploaded to Commons. Commons only accepts freely licensed media. See Commons:Licensing for the details. I can see from your talk page that you were unblocked recently after a very long block. Committing copyright violations or advocating for keeping copyright violations on Commons is likely to get you into hot water. -- Whpq (talk) 18:38, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Whpq: Sorry for the late response, but to be clear, the "some of the images needs to be kept for now" refers to the images used on the Wikipedia Page of America. I was saying that some of the images used are the only photos here of her in the livery like the Venture Cruises and Second Chandris livery. There's also the color images of her under the US line. Sorry if it offended you. I'm not defending copyright violations, I'm saying that it may be needed unless a public domain equivalent is avalible. Angelgreat (talk) 19:00, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
- Commons does not accept non-free content. Period. Full stop. Regardless of what you may wish to use it for or how important you may believe they might be, unless the images are properly under a free license, they cannot be stored on Commons. -- Whpq (talk) 19:45, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Completely inappropriate close AGAIN
editI have undone your close of a discussion for a file which you uploaded. It is completely inappropriate. Did it not occur to you that it would be a bad idea given the note above closing deletion discussions? As well, altering another editor's comment as you did here is not appropriate. And IP editors are allowed to edit on Commons. There is no requirement to create an account and the lack of one is not a reason to close a deletion discussion as you announced here. -- Whpq (talk) 16:25, 21 September 2021 (UTC)

Please stop modifying my comments!
editGood morning Angelgreat, I clearly ask that you please stop modifying my comments when I open a request to delete images that you have uploaded that may be possible copyright violations or license discrepancies, like you did here.
As @Whpq has already indicated, that is completely inappropriate.
Also, that you sabotage my comments to give a false opinion to others about me makes me feel very bad, because my only goal is to help Commons and Wikipedia as much as I can.
Also, that you say that I have to create an account to edit when (also reproached by Whpq) there is no policy that prevents anonymous users from editing. In addition, I'm not dedicated to sabotaging and vandalizing files as other IPs can, so I think that, instead of helping Commons, you are showing others an attitude that does not assume good faith and questions that of others.
Honestly, don't think that I like to mess with you and that I like to request the deletion of your contributions because, rather more, the files that you upload seem quite impressive for me, but I think that the project's policies are quite clear and, although unfortunately they are cool photos, some may not be valid here.
Please, I beg you to understand the situation.
Yours sincerely, 79.151.31.9 10:55, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- @79.151.31.9: I'm sorry about that. It's just that I had bad experiences with some IP users and I didn't want that to happen again. I'll stop modifying your comments. Angelgreat (talk) 13:15, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks so much, don't worry because I understand perfectly your perspective.

Thanks for uploading File:Cleveland Municipal Stadium demolition December 14, 1996.jpg.
Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Cleveland Municipal Stadium demolition December 14, 1996.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |
File:WTC Building Arrangement and Site Plan.svg
editWhy did you had a problem with File:WTC Building Arrangement and Site Plan.svg and reverted it without discussing anything?
It was improved, closer to original and better than any other available SVG map of the area. YitzhakNat (talk) 23:52, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- @YitzhakNat: First, you changed the color scheme. Secondly, you didn't touch it's sister diagram File:WTC Building Arrangement in preliminary site plan.svg at all. Therefore, I reverted the diagram to match the two diagram. So if you want to have the post-9/11 diagram edited to match the colors and details of the pre-9/11 diagram, go ahead. This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:MyOtkryty.svg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

edit- Oppose - Angelgreat's successful unblock request included "I [...] will not import cross-wiki issues anymore". Verily, that was part and parcel of the original block--badgering a user on Commons related to issues on a sister project. Despite this promise, Angelgreat contacted @Deepfriedokra: about their eighth (!!!) denied UTRS appeal on en.wiki--a project which has had the sense not to unblock this user. That message included, for example, "you hint that you have evidence against me, yet you refuse to share it, as if you're saving it to use against me", which suggests a battleground mentality and indeed is a failure of good faith. Deepfriedokra's response of "I will be thrilled to have no further contact with or from you" is also indicative of the unwelcome nature of Angelgreat's contact. That Angelgreat appears not to understand this ("I don't know how the blocking admin justified it "'importing xwiki issues'") is astonishing lack of clue and self-awareness, but par for the course. Эlcobbola talk 00:45, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- I was just asking Deepfriedokra, not threatening them. It's 2 different things. Plus, I onlybrung that up to the user once, plus an edit to add more info. I wasn't spamming their page like with Yamla's. Also, how am I being "unwelcoming"? Please explain that. Angelgreat (talk) 00:52, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
