I am a zoologist from Göttingen, Germany, specialized in terrestrial molluscs from Europe.
Language skills: German, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, fairly Greek and Italian, and I would probably be able to refresh relatively quickly my Quechua and Miskito which I learned in the late 1980s.
I started taking pictures of insects around 2013. There is a summary page on my German Wikipedia user page.
-
Pictures of animals, mostly Coleoptera from Germany
-
Some were showing their wings extended
-
Most beetles were captured in a white cup and then released after taking the pictures
It is my intention that all my pictures uploaded here in Wikimedia Commons remain there in perpetuity (i.e. after my death).
- The idea of this sentence was taken from Stephen Thorpe's iNaturalist profile page. Stephen contributed to iNaturalist New Zealand with thousands of insect observations in a probably unprecedented intensity. He was killed when taking insect pictures in the field in August 2024.
