Description

Caption: Steaming up the Hudson River after winning the submarine chaser race from Bermuda to New York on 20 August 1919. The race was run by 26 boats returning from duty in Europe. SC-131 served in the Mediterranean and was the first U.S. Vessel to enter the Austro-German base at Cattaro after the signing of the armistice.
