English: S96-10562 (August 1995) --- Astronaut John E. Blaha, recently assigned as a cosmonaut researcher for the Russian Space Agency's (RSA) Mir-22 mission, is assisted with his life jacket during water survival training. The exercise took place in the Black Sea while Blaha was assigned to a period of flight preparation and training at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City, Russia. Blaha will be delivered to the Russian Mir Space Station by the Space Shuttle Atlantis when NASA launches its STS-79 flight next summer. |
