Description
English: Captain Robert Martinet, pilot, 3rd Air Group (3rd GA). Death for France (1917). Robert François Martinet was born on December 24, 1885 in Ancon in Peru of French parents. He is the son of Jean Henri Martinet, originally from Bransat in the department of Allier (France) and Marta Rosa Gatti, from Medole (Italy). He obtained his pilot's license under No. 78, May 17, 1910. Robert Martinet was decorated with the Legion of Honor on July 14, 1912 in Compiegne by General de Trentinian. His teammate is Georges Legagneux. The two airmen created the Corbelieu aerodrome near Compiègne with a flying school on Henry Farman aircraft. Georges Legagneux kills himself during the Air Show in Saumur on July 6, 1914. In service ordered during the First World War, Captain Robert Martinet was killed in a Farman airplane test near Mikra, Greece, on April 9, 1917.

Il obtient son brevet de pilote sous le n° 78, le 17 mai 1910. Robert Martinet est décoré de la Légion d'honneur le 14 juillet 1912 à Compiègne par le général de Trentinian. Son coéquipier est Georges Legagneux. Les deux aviateurs fondent l’aérodrome de Corbelieu près de Compiègne avec une école de pilotage sur des appareils Henry Farman. Georges Legagneux se tue au cours du meeting aérien de Saumur le 6 juillet 1914. En service commandé pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, le capitaine Robert Martinet trouve la mort lors d’un essai d’appareil Farman près de Mikra en Grèce, le 9 avril 1917.
