Description |
English: A large fragment of antler, probably Palaeolithic (500,00-8,300BC). The fragment contains three branches and part of the main shaft. Angela Houghton (Natural History Curator, Museum of Reading) has identified this as an antler from a very large Red Deer. She adds judging from the size it must be ancient probably Palaeolithic. There are no tool marks or signs of use present. Dimensions: length: 270.27mm; width: 126.12mm; thickness: 43.97mm; weight: 481g. |
