Dansk: Vintertællingen ført af kiowaen Sett’an (1832-1894).
English: The Kiowa winter count kept by Sett’an (1832-1894). It covers the time from the winter 1832-1833 to the summer of 1892. It starts in the lower, right corner and follows the clock in a spiral towards the center. Winter events are designated by an upright black bar, while summer events frequently are designated by a Sun Dance lodge. It is drawn with colored pencils on manila paper. Sett’an was 46 years of age when he started his work on the winter count. He relied on the memory of older people, the Kiowa winter count of chief Dohasan and his own recollection when he made it. James Mooney obtained the winter count in 1892.
