Avalon, Dec. 4. - While cruising off Cape San Lucas, California, former Congressman C. O. Conn has been successful in landing a giant ray weighing 2650 pounds. (...) From the tip of its tail to its nose the fish mesured 18 feet 7 inches. In width it measures 20 feet. On board of the Comfort is Mr. Conn and L. G. Murphy, both veteran anglers of the Catalina Tuna club. The yacht has been provisioned for a four months' cruise, and left Avalon November 2. (Los Angeles Herald, Number 70, 10 December 1909 [1])
