Español: Gráfico del número de escaños de PSOE, PP, IU, UCD, Podemos y Ciudadanos en el Congreso de los Diputados de España (1977-2015). Notas:

El actual Partido Popular (PP) se presentó en las elecciones de 1977 como Alianza Popular, en las de 1979 como Coalición Democrática, en las de 1982 como Alianza Popular - Partido Demócrata Popular y en las de 1986 como Coalición Popular. En las elecciones de 1977, 1979 y 1982 se cuenta para la gráfica como Izquierda Unida (IU) al Partido Comunista de España, que sería el núcleo de la futura coalición.

La Unión del Centro Democrático (UCD) se presentó en las elecciones de 1977, 1979 y 1982, y luego desapareció como partido político.
