Description This cabin, actually transplanted in 1964 from Washington County, Iowa, is preserved as a monument to commemorate Fort Des Moines No. 2 and the birth of the city of Des Moines, Iowa. The cabin is located north of Principal Park, southwest of MLK/Elm and First/Water Streets.
