Description
English: Bay of Keisgaig The first of the MOD (military) land that is the beginning of the Cape Wrath area. There are no roads to this area and transport is either by foot up the coast from Sandwood Bay or via a guided tour (passenger ferry and minibus) along the only road to the lighthouse at Cape Wrath. The area is rich in wildlife and whilst there we watch 2 seals fishing. The water is so clear that we could easily seem then going to the bottom and chasing fish. This area is great for getting away from people. Camping overnight is wild and anything taken in has to be taken out again. We met 6 people in total on the first day (going north up the coast) and 2 people going south. The walk is easy but tiring because of the constant up and down with on the smallest 'sheep' trail to follow and you have to full able bodied.
