Summary

edit
Description
English: Apocynum seu Fritillaria crassa monstrosa (note that the first S in the word crassa is written like a Long s, making it look like the letter F). Fritillaria crassa is an old name for Orbea variegata (sources: 1, 2), also known as Stapelia variegata (sources: 3, 4). Apocynum is a genus of the Apocynaceae family, which the plant Stapelia variegata belongs to.
The illustration is from the first volume of the florilegium Phytanthoza iconographia (link to page), published in eight volumes between 1737 and 1745.
