...comes ex-LMS Coronation Class No. 6233 Duchess of Sutherland (TOPS No. 98833) passing through Ratcliffe-on-Soar with The Yorkshire Coronation, Leicester-Scarborough excursion. 46233 is owned by the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust, who were also running the railtour under its PMR Tours umbrella (PMR being Princess Margaret Rose, the other Stanier pacific owned by the PRCLT). ISO 1600 necessary for a decent aperture to get a shutter speed of 1/500, which means converting to monochrome to ameliorate the graininess. Unfortunately slightly early on the shutter and I have a bloody white caravan in the shot. Perhaps should have gone to Loughborough Midland and got it while stationary. Time to jump into the car and pick it up further north when the sun has come out a bit more... |
