Files in Category:PD US FDA asking for deletion of my erroneous uploads

edit

I uploaded these files in error. The flickr uploader got out of control and I uploaded Packaging images which I am asking for deletion of without delay.

@Jasonanaggie: Sorry - can you describe the error? Many of these seem to be works of the US government and in the public domain. I see many which seem to be correctly mirrored on Commons. Why do you think all of these do not have a Commons compatible license? Also, I uploaded some of these images. Why are you saying that your bot uploaded them all? @Bluerasberry: I largely agree with your sentiment and I believe that when a company voluntarily agrees to recall an item they void their right to the control the product image. However, consensus on Wikimedia Commons seems to be erring on the cautious side.  Oppose
  1. This list includes files not uploaded by Jasonanaggie. That user mistakenly said that they uploaded these files, which is not correct in some cases.
  2. Some of these files are not eligible for copyright.
  3. Some of these files are works of the US government.
I agree with Jasonaggie - the product photos with copyrighted art are mistaken uploads, but that is not all that is here. Blue Rasberry (talk) 21:00, 2 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Delete because even though they are photos by the US FDA who as a US government organisation give a blanket government use tag, most of the images are derivative works of packaging many of which are copyright designs to which the FDA has no rights in the first place. Plain text slavish copies are likely ok to keep but may not be useful to the project. Very few seem be be ok. Ww2censor (talk) 23:46, 2 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ww2censor Here are some examples of images which I think should be kept:
Good images like these are mixed with images which should be deleted. Blue Rasberry (talk) 21:57, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The uploader wants them all deleted but as I stated I am sure there are some that will be ok but they need individual review and such a blanket deletion is very time consuming to review, so I think if there are any you find and justify as keep, you should probably mark them in the list, so the closing admin can notice them more easily. Deleted: I've gone through these 1 by 1 and kept the files that showed simple packaging, labels, and products, and deleted the packaging images with complex graphics and logos. --lNeverCry 00:40, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
