  • This was tagged with Undelete in 2013. I would like to point out that w:WP:Non-U.S. copyrights states that Belgium had a copyright term of life+70 years in 1996. This means that paintings not published before 1923 are protected by copyright in the United States for 95 years from publication and thus not yet accepted on Commons. File:La pensée qu'on arrête (1932 ).jpg (from 1932) is clearly unacceptable on Commons. Unfortunately, no year is listed for many other paintings. Unless published before 1923, they can't be kept on Commons because of the stupid URAA rule. --Stefan4 (talk) 13:50, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Says who? We need a policy that lets us delete such works only after a takedown notice. We have thousands and thousands of such works, and I have never, ever heard from any lega trouble about them. So let's campaign and persuade the idiots at Wikimedia Foundation that they are paranoid. --FA2010 (talk) 12:47, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Such works are deleted all of the time. See for example Category:URAA-related deletion requests/pending for a lot of deletion requests where such works have been deleted. --Stefan4 (talk) 14:02, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted those from 1923+, kept the rest. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 00:27, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
