Commons:Deletion requests/File:LeezaSCShoot4Small.jpg
Possible copyright violation. Author reads User:Leezagibbons and source reads "Own work", indicating this is a self-portrait (it looks more like professional studio work to me). However the metadata ebedded in the image file mentions "Ron Derhacopian" as photographer and contains a copyright claim mentioning "Ron Derhacopian Photography, Inc." as owner of the rights. - The permission to use this file is accepted by the OTRS team. The ticket is located here. Also, in the metadata, since this was modified (I don't know if by Leezagibbons, "some details may not fully reflect the modified file." Mediran (t • c) 09:47, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry, but your answer doesn't resolve the issue:
- The OTRS link you give is useless, leads to a blank login screen. Who's permission is in OTRS? Again, this is unlikely to be a self portrait.
- The file's information page has conflicting authorship and copyright information (in the summary and metadata sections).
- Contrary to what you suggest the file was never modified, there's only one uploaded version. Anyhow, "some details may not fully reflect the modified file" doesn't cover that. Photoshopping doesn't lead to changes in authorship and ownership.
- Note that this file is nominated to be featured on wikipedia's main page. Fine with me, it's a nice picture indeed, but I believe the file's authorship/ownership should be sorted out first (and the info page/exif data edited accordingly) to prevent unforeseen publicity or even legal claims. Commons doesn't host copyrighted material and I don't believe we want that challenged in this way. Jahoe (talk) 14:01, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
- That is because the link I gave to you is available for this with an OTRS account. Anyway, you can leave a note at the OTRS noticeboard if you wish to confirm the permission. Mediran (t • c) 14:27, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
- That wouldn't resolve much. Copyrights can only be released by the owner of those rights. We can't know who that is, since there's conflicting information. It's either Ron Derhacopian (likely) or Leeza Gibbons, but we can't be sure. Jahoe (talk) 14:36, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
- Handling requests at OTRS is through emails. This means that the conversations of the copyright holder and the Commons volunteers are located there (I think) but that's the concept. If you wish to check if the permission is applicable, please leave a note at the noticeboard so that an OTRS member can assist you. Thanks. Mediran (t • c) 14:45, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
- Done so now. Jahoe (talk) 14:57, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

I have written both Leeza Gibbons and the photographer and asked for confirmation as the permission comes from the Leeza and its not clear if the copyright has been transferred to her. I will comment here as soon as we get a reply. Amada44 talk to me 15:20, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Deleted: Gibbons claims in the OTRS message to be the creator of the image. As as been noted above, that is very improbable. That therefore casts doubt on her claim to be the copyright holder, particularly in view of the EXIF. There is a "sgnificant doubt" here, which is our standard. . Jim . . . .
