This paper deals with the mapping of the approach to intangible cultural heritage in Slovakia by official governmental institutions in the period after 2006, when the Ratification of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage was adopted in Slovak republic. It provides an overview of the legislation and public policies and how they have been implemented at the institutional level. The paper further analyses the activities of government institutions responsible for the implementation of
the Convention's recommendations, as well as the involvement of primary education and universities in this process.

Following a recently realized area structural-historical research on historical truss constructions in the regions of Liptov, Turiec, Orava and Kysuce, a project named Geometric analysis of historical truss constructions on the area of Slovak Republic has arisen. The first truss chosen for the analysis is the one of the Roman Catholic Church in Belá Dulice. This article presents its geometric analysis, as well as the results of the static analysis, focused on static behaviour of the roof superstructure. The attention is paid to the effect of slip in joints on the load redistribution in the structure as well as on the deformation of the main bearing members.

The truss of the Roman Catholic Church of the Holiest Christ's Body was managed to date to the year 1409. It represents one of the few well-preserved medieval structures in this region. The sharp roof above the nave has a typical rafter collar-beam construction with longitudinal stiffening truss. The geometrical analysis of the main roof truss as well as the central longitudinal truss is based on logical dependencies and a description of a process in the truss design, pointing to evaluative relations resulting especially from the Pythagorean Geometry. Consequently, a spatial numerical model of the roof structure was developed in order to perform a static analysis of the roof structure in accordance with present standards. Due to the fact that during the diagnostic survey there were noted some missing structural elements in the roof construction (angle braces), in further analysis, an attention was paid to the importance of the selected structural elements and their role in the construction of the truss itself.

We have analysed historical trusses based on previous building-historical researches, particularly focusing on sacral buildings, in chosen regions of Slovakia, with one of the primary goals to examine geometric concepts and proportional relationships used for their construction. The knowledge of proportional principles and relationships used in various historical sacral trusses, additionally supported by contemporary literature, was applied to a village house truss from 1774 in Vápenná, Jeseníky district of the Czech Republic.

With regard to the structural analysis results, it can be said that the original design of the structure based on geometrical principles satisfy the reliability conditions defined by current European standards for structural design.

Nowadays, companies are facing increased demands for information about their CSR performance. Therefore, CSR reporting is becoming an important CSR activity. The principal purpose of this paper is the identification of appropriate content of CSR report following the analysis and subsequent comparison of available CSR reports. The main finding is that in Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific, the percentage of companies with CSR reports is almost equal. Also, there is no unified template for CSR reports. As a result, an appropriate content of CSR report is to be described. Recommendations are directed towards socially responsible companies.

The vagueness of project success and failure resulted in great deal of theories about achieving the excellence in projects. The purpose of the study is to create a framework for achieving the excellence in projects, based on the Deming Prize. Secondary research include analysis, comparison and selection methods. The result is a model consisting of six criteria, which can be used in various kinds of projects on a global scale. Recommendation for project teams is to not focus only on how to finalize the project to a successful end but to try to bring the project to its excellence.

Nowadays, it is important to develop a continuous commitment of organizations towards society, which lies in the ethical behavior of organizations that contribute to sustainable development and improving the quality of life. The aim of this article is to highlight the activities of socially responsible organizations operating in the Euroregion Beskydy which contribute to improving the quality of life of citizens in this Euroregion.

Successful organizations need to be profitable and also recognized by the general public. Therefore, organizations are becoming more socially responsible. Socially responsible actions are positively perceived. These actions together are molding the organization's reputation. The purpose of this study was to highlight the importance of reputation in the assessment of corporate social responsibility (CSR). The purpose is realized by the secondary research, which consists of parsing the worldwide CSR ranking. Analysis, comparison, and selection are methods used in the secondary research. As the main finding, it may be considered that connections between reputation and CSR exist in three dimensions. Information from the secondary research confirms the importance of reputation in the CSR assessment. Recommendations arising from this study are that organizations should act socially responsible and they should inform the general public about their CSR performance, so that they can obtain a competitive advantage.

Nowadays, every company is in a very difficult position because the competition is tough. Still, every company tries to be successful by focusing on critical success factors and adopting the concept of Business Excellence. The aim of the paper is to identify internal and external factors affecting Business Excellence. The achievement of the aim is fulfilled by linking the most frequently occurring internal and external critical success factors and the core themes of Business Excellence. As a main finding may be considered that the secondary research confirmed that all of the most frequently occurring internal and external factors affect the achievement of Business Excellence. As a result, six internal and five external factors that affect Business Excellence were identified. Based on the secondary research, there is a space for stating certain recommendations: every company which tries to succeed needs to find a suitable conception of critical success factors while these factors should relate to Business Excellence.

Postal sector has always had a key position in the economic and social life of all European countries. Postal operators' responsibility towards the society is supported by the high importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) within the members of trade association representing European public postal operators-PostEurop. The purpose of this paper is to summarize activities within the CSR Circle of European public postal operators. The purpose is fulfilled by the secondary research, including analyzing the information from 2014 PostEurop's report. As a main finding may be considered that activities within the PostEurop's CSR Circle are carried out in 3 main areas. Information from the secondary research contributes to a summary of the activities within the PostEurop's CSR Circle. Recommendations arising from this paper are that all of the European public postal operators should adopt the CSR concept so they could be included in the PostEurop's CSR Circle.

Internet is a place where consumers exchange their experience. This process contributes to shaping online reputation of organizations. Positive online reputation is desired by most organizations. But only few organizations know that it can be changed from positive to negative per day. To avoid inconveniences, organizations need to manage their online reputation. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the benefits of online reputation management based on analysis of related case studies. The purpose is achieved by the secondary research which consists of analyzing the case studies focused on online reputation management. Used methods are analysis, comparison and selection. The main finding is that online reputation can be managed in many indicators. In conclusion, proper online reputation management strategy is a benefit for every organization. Recommendations for organizations are to monitor their online presence and manage it properly, so they can gain more customers and of course higher profit.

Companies use many managerial frameworks that ensure desired development. Some of these frameworks are quality-oriented, others are financially-oriented but only a few of them are environmentally-oriented. The aim of the paper is to delineate selected environmental excellence models on account of their comparison. The main motive for the selection of the paper's topic were researches conducted by various authors who have dealt with environmental excellence models, respectively with self-assessment based on existing environmental excellence models. To fulfil the aim of the paper, secondary research is to be conducted. Based on the methods of analysis, comparison and selection, the most frequently occurring criteria of analysed environmental excellence models are to be identified. As a main finding may be considered that three of four environmental excellence models consist of various criteria, while most of these criteria are similar. However, criteria based on another important principles are not included in more than one of mentioned environmental excellence models. This obliges to further research aimed at developing an integrated environmental excellence model consisting of the most important criteria.

Horizon 2020 represents EU's transparent and reliable access to funding the research and innovation activities. The aim of the paper is to provide an overview of Horizon 2020 first results within Euroregion Beskydy. To fulfill the aim, the secondary research of which a main source was the EU publication "Horizon 2020 First results" is to be conducted. The secondary research is to be aimed at summarizing selected results in the conditions of Euroregion Beskydy countries – Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland. As a main finding may be considered that, in comparison with the EU average, Horizon 2020 first results within Euroregion Beskydy were above average. Since we are not able to identify the characteristics with the largest impact on Horizon 2020 first results, it obliges us to future research aimed at finding these characteristics.

When companies invest their financial resources for gainful purposes, not all of their investment decisions are beneficial to the public welfare. Therefore, companies can invest in the new areas while also participating in the public welfare. This is embodied by the term sustainable and responsible investment (SRI). The aim of the paper is to identify SRI activities and strategies which should be included in the investment decision-making process of companies. The achievement of the aim is pursued by study of relevant documents and websites of the institutions dealing with SRI and SRI activities and strategies. Secondary research was mainly based on the analysis. The main finding is that existing SRI activities and strategies are not scrupulously CSR-oriented. As a result, SRI activities and strategies oriented on CSR areas are to be identified.
