British Colonial Design Style

British Colonial style is representative of the nineteenth-century colonial experience in stifling hot, tropical climates such as India, the West Indies + Africa. Typically arched windows, grand porticoes + pillars create the bones for this style with high, often pitched ceilings, white painted weatherboards, shutters, mosquito nets, muslin, rattan, slatted furniture, chests, scattered British classic cabinets, tropical or other nature inspired elements + hardwood flooring are its signature.
