1.9M views · 29K reactions | Easy treat with a crunch! | Easy treat with a crunch! I make a salty and sweet snack for the holidays | By Jen L | Starting off with two sticks of butter, one cup of sugar, a teaspoon of vanilla extract into a warm saucepan. We're going to be stirring that until it's this beautiful brown color. I'm going straight in to my parchment covered thirteen by nine for this super fun and easy treat. I spread a thin layer of that before adding my dark chocolate cocoa chips. I let the cocoa chips sit for about a minute, 5 minutes so that they melt and then we're spreading them over our creme. I'm coming in with some pecan pieces. You can feel free to use any kind of nut you want. I just love the dark chocolate and pecan mix. And then of course to make this a salty sweet treat. I'm going in with just some sea salt all over the top. Once we have all of our toppings on we are going to be placing this in the fridge overnight. And then once you pull it out the following day you get this amazing toffee bark that just breaks in half and is so delicious. Enjoy. I

Start by cutting 5 ripe oranges. Separate the orange flesh from the peel. For this recipe, we will only be using the peel but you can make a nice juice with the orange flesh. Cut the peel in half once more and remove all the white part, transfer the peels to a medium baking dish, add enough water to cover everything, mix well, cover with plastic wrap, and leave to soak for at least 12 hours. Drain all the water, transfer the peels to a large saucepan, add enough water to cover everything, turn on the heat to medium low power and let everything simmer for 10 minutes. Drain all the cooking water, transfer everything back to the pan over medium to low heat. Add two cups of 240 milliliters each of granulated sugar and constantly stir everything very well until the sugar melts and starts to crystallize again coating the orange peels. Transfer everything to a bowl and let it cool until it reaches room temperature. That recipe is ready, C you next recipe. Bye bye.
