Art of Leyendecker, J.C.

J.C. Leyendecker (March 23, 1874-July 25, 1951) one of the pre-eminent American illustrators of the early 20th century, he's best known for The Arrow Collar Man and for more than 400 The Saturday Evening Post magazine covers. During the Golden Age of American Illustration, he produced 322 covers for The Saturday Evening Post as well as advertisement illustrations for its interior pages. Leyendecker "virtually invented the whole idea of modern magazine design."
