This is one of my favourite ways to print my embroidery pattern directly onto the fabric. I’ve used this method 100s of times and it’s only ever jammed once in my printer! But is super important to make sure that the fabric is trimmed to the exact size of the paper and that there are no loose threads that could catch in the machine! Using my printer, the pattern won’t wash out at the end so be mindful of that if you want to try this method. After trying various techniques like using windows and carbon paper, I’ve settled on a method that’s a bit unique to me. Here is how and why: HOW: I start by securing the fabric tightly in the hoop. Then, I switch on my small light pad and place the printed pattern on it. Next, I position my hoop on top of the pattern, ensuring the flat side is facing down (just like you can see in the video). Using a heat erasable pen, I trace the pattern onto the fabric. The pattern ends up on the wrong side of the fabric, so I unscrew the hoop and reposition the fabric correctly. Sophie Timms•Modern Embroidery Artist on Instagram: "Here’s a question I get asked all the time!✍🏼

One of the questions I get asked the MOST is how I transfer my embroidery patterns

Well, listen up because here are all the reasons why I love the FriXion pens!

First and foremost, the Pilot FriXion pens are heat erasable, making them the perfect tool for transferring your embroidery patterns. That means:

✅ If you make a mistake, you can easily erase the lines with a quick blast of a hairdryer or iron, or

✅ If you get to the end of stitching and there’s a few lines you haven’t quite covered? No biggie! You can remove them at the end!

(I told you - GAME CHANGER!)

But wait, there’s more! 👇🏼
