The Good Life

To me, The Good Life means a life centered around service, family, and reassurance in yourself and in faith. Many times we find ourselves living for ourselves, but we should live for others. We were put in this world as an image of God and must live as He would. It is important to know what is essential in having a good life, and I believe my pins show what is necessary in having this. Many of my pictures show mission trips to Africa and helping people who are in need. This is important because we are called to serve others. Just as Father Matt was always helping and listening to others, we must do the same. "The best gift you could ever give is your time because you're giving something that you'll never get back." We must be merciful, spread love, and see good in every situation. Once we do this, our service to others will be much more fulfilling. Another one of my points that makes for a good life is family. As always, family is forever. They are the one people who are there for you when no one else is, the people who will always love you unconditionally. Father Matt explained how he spends time with family as much as he can, which I think is crucial. We find ourselves getting caught up in materialistic things, loving them when we need to learn love the people in our lives more. "The love of a family is life's greatest blessing." When we come to realize that family is the most important thing to have in life, everything else will not even compare. Lastly, having reassurance in yourself and in your faith will help you live a good life. When you have faith, anything you want to happen will, and it will bring a sense of accomplishment; a kind of relief. Be positive toward yourself, love yourself, and never live life with regrets. Pray everyday, thank God for what he has given you, and it will be then that you will have doubts about your faith. When we give the time for God, we will do His part for you. When you know your life is in the hands of God, there will be nothing to worry about. Many of my pins are quotes about praying, living for God, and living a life that is simple, yet significant. Father Matt gives much of his day toward prayer, and I believe once we put even a couple minutes toward it, we will have a good life. Look at each of your blessings and that alone should give you a reason to smile, and a reason to know you are not alone. 'When life is rough, pray. When life is great, pray." Never forget who gets you through the bad times and who is adoring you through the bad. Live your life with no doubts in yourself, or in God, who is the reason you're here and the image you should be. The Good Life is one in which I think should be focused on service, family, and having reassurance in yourself and in your faith. Once you look at and center your life around these, everything will be simpler and happier. You will be grateful for what you have, and not even think about what you do not. "A good life is when you smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realize how blessed you are for what you have."

"So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should."
I remember walking through the city streets with a former boss once. Along the way, we passed many homeless people seeking cash, job leads and encouragement. He wondered out loud which of them should receive anything. I wondered silently how he could judge since, although I knew he'd had a troubled childhood, he'd never lived a day on the street.
