We are SO CLOSE to the finish line! I’m looking forward to taking some time to recuperate after a long year, spend some quality time with my boys, and maybe (if I’m lucky!) even sneak in a nap or two. Heading into a new year, I’ve been reminded about the phenomenon that is guided journals. They used to be super popular, and honestly, I still see the value in them. It’s helpful to have an objective source you can refer back to as you process different aspects of your life. Can they be a little repetitive? Sure, but I think the best guided journals can be very thought-provoking.
Overcoming: A Workbook // Michelle has spent the last couple weeks promoting this new workbook, which is exactly what inspired this roundup of the best guided journals! It’s all about how to support your own wellness and overcome different struggles in life, which feels super relevant going into 2025.
Between Mom and Me: A Mother & Son Keepsake Journal // I’m so tempted to scoop this up for me and Jack… I can just imagine flipping through the journal and reminiscing with him when he grows up. The author also has different versions for fathers and daughters, grandpas and grandkids, etc.
Seen, Loved & Heard: A Guided Journal for Feeding the Soul // You may recognize Tabitha Brown’s name from her home collection with Target, but what doesn’t she do! This journal has great reviews and just looks so uplifting and healing.
The Five Minute Journal // I don’t know anyone who hasn’t owned this at least once before. To me, it’s the “OG” guided journal. It’s SO simple and very easy to continuously incorporate into your daily routine.
Get Your Sh*t Together Journal // Guided journals can sometimes be too “flowery.” This one isn’t– I like that it’s clear and to the point.
Happy-ish: A Guided Journal // I’m always surprised that more people haven’t heard of Nora McInerny! She’s hilarious. Happy-ish reminds me of the early days of blogging… more about checking in versus wrapping anything neatly with a bow. Also love that it’s described as being for gratitude, anxiety, *and* self-care.
Feel Your Best: A Workbook for Personal Growth // This one truly feels like a workbook, packed with gratitude lists, weekly check-ins, goal setting, and a LOT more. I think the perforated edges are genius: you can easily tear out any pages you want to reference for later without searching for it in the journal.
One Question a Day for Kids: A Three-Year Journal // Another one I want to get for Jack! Imagine how his answers could change over three years… So special and based on the example prompts I think I’d be in for a laugh too!
The Next Right Thing Guided Journal // When you’re at a crossroads in life, it can be hard to “organize” your thoughts and move forward confident in your decision. I can recall many times I could have used a journal like this one!
I journal every day and I will definitely be looking into these for the new year!
