It’s time to inlay this sweet scene! 🦄🏺 Closed captioning: Inlay platter with me! You might remember this piece from a carving video I posted a couple of weeks ago. So now that this piece has had a chance to dry out, the drawing is ready for inlay. My most essential tools here are a clean sponge, @amacobrent underglaze, a nice fan brush and lots of water. I’m working with bone dry clay which is chalky and very fragile. Now I’ll run it through the bisque kiln, and next up: glazing! #Potte...
99 reactions | Glaze inlay days mark the beginning of the glazing journey for these mugs! 🎨🌸✨ While I don’t necessarily love applying (or really I should say removing) the inlay, I do love that it really makes these mugs pop! It’s an exciting step to watch each design come to life✨ • • • • #pottery #glaze #ceramicglaze #maycoglaze #handmade #potterydesign #glazeday #handamdepottery #inspiredbynature #potteryreels #artstudio #shopsmall #clay #ceramics #potterylove #potteryofinstagram #pottersofinstagram #madeinaskutt #inspiredbyflowers #waxresist #sgraffito #chickenlady #chickendecor #chickenpottery #potterytechniques #potterytutorial #glazetechniques | Alex Wilkins | Gregory Alan Isakov · Sweet Heat Lightning

Josephine Mae Design on Instagram: "Using the ceramic technique “Mishima” to inlay the black underglaze into this lifted Tacoma truck design. 🛻✨ Mishima is a technique in ceramics where a contracting color of underglaze or slip is applied into the groves on an etched clay body. Then the extra is scraped or wiped away from the high points of the clay to reveal the groves left with the design. This inlay technique is used often for detailed fine illustrative works."
