Medalla de Baker de la Royal Society
La medalla de Baker de la Royal Society és una de les medalles[1] de la Royal Society que reconeix la ciència excepcional i extraordinària. Consisteix en medalla i una conferència com a premis per al candidat guanyador. El medallista està obligat a donar una conferència sobre qualsevol tema relacionat amb les ciències físiques. S'atorga anualment a individus en el camp de les ciències físiques, incloent-hi la informàtica.

modificaEl premi s’instituí el 1775, quan Henry Baker feu donació de 100 lliures per establir una conferència impartida per un company de la Royal Society sobre història natural o filosofia experimental, tal com la institució havia de determinar. N’era objectiu palès d'oferir una conferència d'interessos científics i d’importància, i fomentar l'intercanvi de coneixements amb d’altres.
