XY Blisters
In addition to the XY Theme Decks, six different XY Blisters made their way to store shelves for release on February 5, 2014. Single Pack Blisters included one XY booster pack, a coin, and an exclusive Cosmos Holofoil print of either Dragon Vault Salamence or Plasma Freeze Dragonite. Two Pack Blisters came with a coin, two XY booster packs, and, much like the Black & White Two Pack Blisters, featured a trio of exclusive Cosmos Holofoil variants. One included Dark Explorers Venusaur, Boundaries Crossed Charizard, and Plasma Blast Blastoise; the other included Dragon Vault Dragonite, and Dragons Exalted Garchomp and Hydreigon. The print of Blastoise erroneously lists the copyright as ©2012, even though the Plasma Blast expansion was released in 2013 and the blister packs in 2014. This was corrected when the six promotional cards were printed again eight months later in the XY Knock Out Collection.
In addition to three XY booster packs and a coin, the Three Pack Blisters featured Cosmos Holofoil prints of either Dragons Exalted Gyarados or Plasma Storm Gallade. These blisters used the plastic clamshell packaging first seen on varieties for the Black & White expansion and were not initially available in North America. It was not until their inclusion on the Pokémon Center online store in August 2014 that prompted their distribution in the North American market. Variations of these blisters with the more traditional paperboard packaging were also made available at a later date.
The coins included within the first release of these blisters were mostly repackaged from Noble Victories, Next Destinies, and Dark Explorers-related merchandise. Different coins were included in waves of Single Pack Blisters that shipped with Garchomp-EX Boxes for release in April 2014. These updated blisters came with Black-backed versions of the Xerneas and Yveltal coins from the XY Theme Decks, as well as Black-backed, Gold Mirror Holofoil Pikachu coins. The Xerneas and Yveltal coins were only available in shipments to Target stores, while the Pikachu coins were more widely available. Another wave of Two Pack Blisters was also shipped with Flashfire products: blisters featuring the evolved Kanto first partner Pokémon included a Large-sized, Black-backed, Silver Cracked Ice Holofoil Deoxys coin; blisters featuring the three Dragon-type Pokémon included a Large-sized, Black-backed, Silver Cracked Ice Holofoil Genesect coin.
Promotional cards:
- Salamence (Dragon Vault 8; Cosmos Holofoil)
- Dragonite (Plasma Freeze 83; Cosmos Holofoil)
- Venusaur (Dark Explorers 3; Cosmos Holofoil)
- Charizard (Boundaries Crossed 20; Cosmos Holofoil)
- Blastoise (Plasma Blast 16; ©2012 Cosmos Holofoil)
- Dragonite (Dragon Vault 5; Cosmos Holofoil)
- Garchomp (Dragons Exalted 91; Cosmos Holofoil)
- Hydreigon (Dragons Exalted 98; Cosmos Holofoil)

XY Trainer Kit
- Main article: XY Trainer Kit (TCG)
Trainer Kits were first conceived in the EX Series as a way to introduce prospective players to the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The XY Trainer Kit was the first iteration of the XY Series and was released on March 12, 2014. Each kit was packaged with two pre-constructed Half Decks featuring Sylveon and Noivern, with the Sylveon Half Deck focusing on Fairy-type Pokémon and the Noivern Half Deck focusing on Darkness and Psychic-types. None of the cards have rarity symbols and each feature a collection number and set symbol exclusive to the kit. The cards are numbered in such a way to allow them to be played in the kit's example battle; cards could also be easily reset if the decks were accidentally shuffled prior to conducting an example battle.
In addition to the Half Decks, the XY Trainer Kit also contained two booklets to guide players through the game, an exclusive deck box, a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, a coin featuring the Kalos first partner Pokémon, a playmat, and a code card to unlock the cards in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online. Redeeming the code card also unlocked the digital Mindbind Theme Deck, a combination of both Half Decks into a full 60-card deck.

Included in the release were playmats, sleeves, deck boxes, and 3-ring binders, some of which were part of larger collections of merchandise available on the store.
Deck boxes: Two new English-exclusive deck boxes were made available for purchase in January 2016.
- The We're Goomy Deck Box features a trio of Goomy with different personality traits. This item was one of several that made up the We're Goomy Collection, which was based on a Japanese Pokémon Center merchandise campaign that began in early 2015.
- The Team Magma and Team Aqua Deck Box features a largely grey and black design with emblems of the Generation III villainous teams, Team Magma and Team Aqua.

Playmat: The only playmat newly available for January was the English-exclusive Goomy playmat from the We're Goomy Collection. The playmat displays Goomy in a number of decorated scenarios with various other Pokémon.

Sleeves: The majority of sleeve packs released by the Pokémon Center in January 2016 were originally released in Japan. For the English release, each pack contained 65 card sleeves, and sold for a price of $7.99. Each sleeve received minor tweaks to the copyrights and design from its Japanese counterparts.
- The We're Goomy Sleeves (Japanese: デッキシールド ヌメラだもの。 Deck Shield: Numera's Stuff.), a part of the We're Goomy Collection, were originally available in Japanese Pokémon Centers on March 14, 2015. For their English release, The Japanese text ヘイヘイ was translated into the English Hey Hey, and the Japanese collection name was omitted completely, being replaced with more star graphics.
- The Pikachu Tails Sleeves (Japanese: デッキシールド ピカチュウのしっぽ Deck Shield: Pikachu's Tail) were initially released in Japan on January 17, 2015. The design features a completely yellow background with Pikachu's stripes and tail. The English release modifies the copyright running across the bottom border.
- The Poké Ball Sleeves (Japanese: デッキシールド モンスターボール柄 Deck Shield: Poké Ball Design) were released alongside the Pikachu Tails Sleeves in Japan on January 17, 2015. They sport the silhouettes of various Pokémon behind a basic Poké Ball design. The English release modifies the text along the bottom border.
- The Team Magma and Team Aqua Sleeves are the only set of sleeves in the group that did not have a Japanese release. Featured in the design are the logos for Team Aqua and Team Magma, as well as silhouettes of Kyogre and Groudon.
- Originally released to Japanese Pokémon Centers one year prior on January 17, 2015, the Flygon Sleeves (Japanese: デッキシールド 天体観測 Deck Shield: Celestial Observation) feature various Hoenn Pokémon staring up at a starry night sky. The illustration was drawn by sui. The only differences between the two prints are copyrights.
- Released in Japan on March 14, 2015, the Dragonite Sleeves (Japanese: デッキシールド カイリュー Deck Shield: Kairyu) were the last of the sleeves available via the English Pokémon Center website in mid-January 2016. The scene portrayed is of Dragonite flying above a bed of flowers with Altaria and Bagon. The illustration was drawn by Kanako Eo. The only difference between the English and Japanese prints is the copyright information.

Fates Collide Prerelease Kit
- Main article: Fates Collide Prerelease Kit (TCG)
Prerelease Tournaments have been a regular fixture of the TCG calendar since Organized Play was officially structured in 2003, during which attendees are given the opportunity to obtain and play with cards from the latest expansions before their official release. In Prereleases held prior to the Fates Collide expansion, participants were given six booster packs and were required to use cards from them to build a 40-card deck (basic Energy cards were also provided at venues). New for the Fates Collide Prereleases, however, were the introduction of Prerelease Kits, which included four Fates Collide booster packs and a sealed 23-card Prerelease pack for players to source their cards, as well as a Prerelease tip sheet. Prerelease packs comprised a random configuration of cards from predetermined pools, one of which supported the enclosed promotional card. A total of four Prerelease promotional cards were available in the kits, each of which featured alternate artwork to their in-set print and a stamp bearing the Fates Collide expansion logo.
