Alola and hello! I'm Butterfreeism, and welcome to my userpage! It's a work in progress, and among other things, it's a way for me to practice/test out different things with wikicode. If you have any suggestions, let me know on my talk page!
Current projects
Alola, which has location pages still needing descriptions
Here are my current Bulbapedia projects:
- Adding/expanding the basic descriptive information for locations in the Alola & Galar games, i.e. in the "Route description" and "Geography" sections of those pages
- Fleshing out & streamlining the "Biology" descriptions for individual Pokémon species, particularly with the physical descriptions of Pokémon
- Adding/expanding information related to Pokémon GO and the Paldea games
- Fixing grammatical, stylistic, and typographical issues wherever I find them
About me
I've been a Pokémon fan since my childhood in the 1990s. I played Pokémon Yellow on my GameBoy Color, though I never actually finished it. (I couldn't find HM03 (Surf) in the Safari Zone, so I couldn't get any further in the main storyline than the Fuchsia Gym.) I watched the Pokémon: Indigo League anime every day after school. And I collected Pokémon Cards in a big Pokémon binder, though I never knew how to play the game.
While I continued to like Pokémon and remember a lot about Generation I, I stopped keeping up with Pokémon (in any form) just before the start of Generation III. By the time I got a DS in the mid-2000s, I wasn't even aware that more Pokémon games were coming out. But in 2016, I finally got back into the wonderful world of Pokémon with Pokémon Moon and Pokémon GO.
Since then, my husband & I have played all the core series games as they've come out, up to and including Pokémon Shield and its Expansion Pass! We've also played a handful of the side games, kept up somewhat with the new movies, and started collecting Pokémon Cards again. We've started to learn how to play the TCG, but since we still don't have a full starter set, we mostly just collect the cards to collect them.
My username is inspired by the Generation I Pokémon Butterfree. I didn't come up with it myself, though; it comes from something we did in my frosh dorm in college. One day, we decided to list out which Pokémon everyone was, and my dormmates decided I was the Butterfree of our dorm. And I kind of ran with it!
Pokémon Universe
If I were a character in the Pokémon Universe, my starter would be the Grass-type Starter for the region. The only exceptions I'd make would be in Unova, where I'd choose Tepig, and Kalos, where I'd choose Froakie.
Regardless of my Starter choice, I'd probably end up becoming a trainer focused on Ghosts (e.g. a male Psychic that focuses on Ghosts or a Punk Guy that throws in a few Ghosts). To be close to the Ghost Pokémon, I'd live in one of the following cities:
I don't know the other regions well enough yet to say which city or town I'd prefer.
I'm not sure how much of a Pokémon adventure I'd undertake, or even whether I'd challenge the Elite Four. I might be a Pokémon Breeder (in the anime sense) instead.
Usertags
Below are the usertags that I've come across that both apply to me and that I liked. If you have suggestions for other ones, drop me a note on my talk page.

Favorites
Below are lists of my favorites for various aspects of the Pokémon Universe.
Favorite types
Below are my favorite Pokémon types, in ranked order. I think of these as "Haunted Forest" types, since I'd imagine these types of Pokémon coexisting in a haunted forest.
Favorite Pokémon
Here are my favorite Pokémon, in rank order. Their types are listed as of Generation VIII.

Games
I've played the following core series games, at least briefly:
Despite playing all of these games for extended periods of time, I've only beaten Pokémon Moon and Pokémon Shield so far. I'm a major spader in Pokémon games. However, I do fully intend to play through each of the ones I still have access to until I beat them!
Through the years, I've also played a number of the spin-off Pokémon games, most notably Pokémon GO. I started playing on the first day it came out in 2016, and I've never really stopped. It helps that I've always lived/worked in places with good access to PokéStops and Gyms.
Teams
Here are my main teams.
Pokémon GO
When I think about my 'team' in Pokémon GO, I think of my top CP Pokémon that I use frequently in Gym Battles and Raid Battles. Here are some of my perennial team members:
Lucky Pokémon are marked with golden backgrounds. Max stat Pokémon are marked with pink backgrounds.
