The Indigo Plateau serves as the capital for the Pokémon League. It is the final destination for Pokémon Trainers competing in Indigo or Johto League competitions against the Elite Four. This is the where the powerful Elite Four battle against Trainers in a final showdown of becoming a master Pokémon trainer, who may be challenged after defeating of all eight Gym Leaders of each respective region. In the anime, it is also the location of the Indigo Plateau Conference, Kanto Grand Festival and the Pokémon League Village.
The Indigo Plateau is located just north of Victory Road, and east of Mt. Silver. In Generation I and III, the only way to reach the Indigo Plateau is by going through Route 23; however, in Generation II and IV, the Indigo Plateau can be reached by going through Route 26. In order to reach Indigo Plateau by foot, Trainers must venture through Victory Road, a lengthy cave acting as a final test for Trainers.

Hi Bulbapedia readers! Today, we have a number of announcements to make, so let's get started!
First, we would like to thank everyone who participated in NIWA's Cross-Wiki Week! In total, over 3500 #cww edits were made across NIWA's 40 wikis - amazing work! Prize winners will be contacted privately in the upcoming weeks.
Next, we are debuting two new resources for readers and editors alike. Our new manga portal makes browsing all sorts of stories from the Pokémon world a smoother experience, and the redesigned Editor's Hub will help contributors start their own stories on Bulbapedia with a variety of ways to get involved. Take a look!
Additionally, we have a new feature installed on the encyclopedia: Media Viewer. This feature allows users to browse our 250,000 images in a new, immersive way. We hope this improves the image viewing experience for our readers, and we will be assessing its performance in the upcoming weeks. Feedback can be submitted on the talk page for editors here and via this anonymous survey for readers here to communicate any potential exclusions from the Media Viewer display.
Finally, we have some recent policy updates:
- We have updated the userspace policy to follow modern wiki practices and address recent issues. If you use your userspace frequently, this is an important update to check out.
- We are introducing guidelines for machine-assisted contributions. This policy details a number of topics, from machine translation and scripted edits, to Bulbapedia's stance and restrictions on the use of AI in written and visual contributions.
This is set to be a busy month on Bulbapedia as we cover the release of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. If you are interested in contributing to the game coverage, join our discord and jump into the discussion. We look forward to seeing you!
- Maverick Nate
- Editor-in-Chief, Bulbapedia
