Mer Stadium

Mer Stadium (Japanese: マールスタジアム Mar Stadium) is a stadium in Pokémon UNITE. It is broadly similar to Remoat Stadium, being a floating landmass with wooded and beach areas. (However, In Search of a Aeos Energy Spot implies that the two are separate locations.) The main differences between Remoat and Mer are their sizes and the shapes of their Central Area. Like all stadiums, Mer Stadium was built over an Aeos energy spot.

As a stadium exclusive to Quick Battle, Mer Stadium can only be accessed by Trainers with a Trainer level of at least 4. A normal battle here is a 4 vs 4 match.

Geography

The central area is surrounded with four rectangular fountains in the diagonal corners. These fountains have Octillery and Dewgong statues, which spill a light spread of water ito the inner portion of the central area.

Gameplay

Halloween in Mer Stadium

Mer Stadium is similar to Remoat Stadium, but scaled down. It reuses much of Remoat Stadium's wild Pokémon, and likely many of the graphical assets.

There are three goal zones per team, two forward goal zones and a third in front of each team's base. The forward goal zones are destroyed after a minimum of 60 points are scored in that zone.

Furthermore, Drednaw does not spawn on the bottom path, but instead, another Rotom spawns. At 3:00, Zapdos spawns in the center of the map, and does not spawn again for the rest of the match after defeated.

Mer Stadium has had a special version called Halloween in Mer Stadium. In this stage, players can throw pumpkins at opposing Pokémon, leaving them unable to attack or score for a short amount of time. Mer Stadium was also featured in a special mode known as Full-Fury Battle.

Pokémon

Full-Burst Battle! Dragon Dustup

Full-Burst Battle! Dragon Dustup is a quick battle that occurs on the Mer Stadium map. It is a 4 vs 4 battle that can only be selected during events.

In this battle, the only eligible Unite Licenses are the ones for Dragon-type Pokémon, and all such Licenses are available from the Unite Battle Committee as trial Unite Licenses for this battle. They are: Dragapult, Miraidon, Dragonite, Duraludon, Goodra, and Garchomp. Members of the same team are allowed to use the same Unite License.

The wild Pokémon that appear in the battle are all Dragon-type as well, with the exception of Swablu. Most of the Pokémon appearing are from Theia Sky Ruins, including Rayquaza as an objective Pokémon. However, new to UNITE is Regidrago, also in the role of objective Pokémon. Regidrago appears on both the Top and Bottom Paths, but only appears in one instance at a time. Defeating Regidrago causes it to join the team of that player and move toward the closest opposing goal zone. It attacks opponents, and ultimately scores in an opposing goal zone and leaves it defenseless if it is not knocked out. Regidrago respawns abnormally quickly, locking the battle's pace at "frentic".

This event is descended from the earlier Full-Fury Battle mode, meaning that basic attack speed is increased, all cooldown times are substantially lower than normal, and scoring speed is faster.

The forward goal zones are slightly more durable than usual, allowing for 120 points to be scored before they are destroyed instead of only 60.

Objective Pokémon

Pokémon Location First Appears Respawns After Behaviors Basic Attack Reward
UNITE Regidrago Wild.png
Regidrago
Appears on the top or bottom paths. Exactly where varies 5:00 5 seconds Has a variable appearance. Either it first spawns on the top path or the bottom path, then alternates paths each time it spawns. If a forward goal zone on that path of one team has been destroyed, it can appear slightly farther down the path. (Not quite to the former goal zone itself) Uses an indeterminate move where it bites the area in front of itself using its arms. Uses Dragon Energy, which fires a beam forward. Melee 20 Aeos energy normally.
After being defeated, it restores its health and joins the team that dealt the last hit. It moves toward the nearest opposing goal zone while holding another set of 20 Aeos energy. The opposing team can attack it, reducing the amount of Aeos energy it carries or defeat it entirely. If Regidrago reaches a goal zone, it scores its currently held Aeos energy for the allied team and renders the goal zone defenseless for 15 seconds. (This is reduced depending on how much damage it takes earlier) Regidrago retains its objective Pokémon immunity to all hindrances while moving to a goal zone, something untrue of other similar Pokémon.
UNITE Rayquaza Wild.png
Rayquaza
Appears in the Pit at the center of the stage 2:00 N/A This Pokémon does not move to chase opposing Pokémon. Uses Draco Meteor, which hits a circular area around this Pokémon. Uses an indeterminate move where tornadoes appear below opposing Pokémon. The tornadoes throw Pokémon. Uses another indeterminate move where it slams the ground, throwing opposing Pokémon near it. Ranged 30 Aeos energy.
Defeating this Pokémon grants all members of the team that defeated it boosted scoring speed and a shield. While this shield is active, receiving damage will not interrupt scoring attempts. A tornado will appear under all Pokémon of the opposing team.

In the manga

This map of Aeos Island, seen in the manga, depicts Mer Stadium. It is in the lower right portion, in the lower of the two orange circles. The shape of the blocks matches that of Mer Stadium, while the circled area above it matches that of Remoat Stadium.

In Pokémon UNITE Manga - Come On Over to Aeos Island!, Mer Stadium makes a minor appearance in the fourth chapter, In Search of a Aeos Energy Spot. It appears on a map of Aeos Island, in reference to how all stadiums are built on top of a Aeos energy spots.
