The App Store launched on July 10, 2008,[2] in time for the release of the iPhone 3G the next day.[3] It is the official app store for the iOS and iPadOS operating systems and as of May 2020, it had 1,847,000 apps available for download.[4] The App Store is accessed through a dedicated app on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad or via previews on Apple's website. As of April 2020, the App Store is available in 175 countries and regions around the world.[5]

Music
The iTunes Music Store was launched by Steve Jobs at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2003,[1] and by February 2010, had become the largest music vendor in the world.[8] In response to the decline in music sales and the rise of streaming services like Spotify, the Apple Music subscription service was launched on June 30, 2015,[9] which as of April 2020, is available in 167 countries and regions.[5]
On iOS and iPadOS devices, music is available for purchase on the iTunes Store app, and Apple Music is available through the Music app. On Windows and Mojave or older macOS systems the iTunes store and Apple Music are available through the iTunes client. On macOS Catalina, both are available through the native Music app. Apple Music apps are also available on watchOS, tvOS and Android as well as on the web.
