Release information

This card was included as a Regular card, a Full Art ultra rare card, a special illustration rare card, and a gold etched hyper rare card in the Paradox Rift expansion, first released in the Japanese Raging Surf subset. The Regular, ultra rare, and hyper rare prints feature artwork by 5ban Graphics, while the special illustration rare print features artwork by Oswaldo KATO. In Japan, the Regular print was reprinted in the Terastal Fest ex subset.

An oversized version of the Regular print bearing the Paradox Rift expansion logo on the left side of the artwork as given away with eligible Pokémon Trading Card Game purchases in various countries. In France, it was available starting December 10, 2023 and given away with purchases worth at least €20 from participating Smyths stores.[1] From January 16, 2024, it was given away in the Czech Republic with purchases worth at least 499 Kč at participating JRC or Smarty stores, or from their online shops.[2] It was also available in Slovakia from the same date and was given away with purchases worth at least €19.99 at participating BRLOH or Smarty stores, or from their online shops.[3] It was available from March 8, 2024 in the United Kingdom and was given to customers who purchased at least £20 worth of TCG products at participating GAME stores. Although social media images stated this promotion would run until March 21,[4] the terms and conditions on the GAME website stated the promotion would run until March 28.[5] The oversized print was also available in Germany, but the date and method of its distribution is currently unknown.

This card was reprinted with different artwork by PLANETA Mochizuki in the Tactics Deck Terastal Garchomp ex, which was released in Taiwan and Hong Kong on July 19, 2024, followed by releases in Indonesia and Thailand on August 16, 2024. It has not been released in any other market.

Origin

This card features a Terastallized Garchomp with the Water Tera Type. A wild Garchomp that Terastallizes into a Water-type appears in West Province (Area Two).
