Egg event

Egg events (Japanese: タマゴイベント Egg Event) are limited-time events in Pokémon Masters EX where players can receive Pokémon Eggs that hatch into Pokémon of certain themes, usually of a specific type, with which the player can form sync pairs. During these events, the normally obtainable Eggs are not available from the permanent areas; instead, event-specific battles grant probabilities of giving Eggs. Pokémon from these Eggs randomly have one of three roles (Strike, Tech, or Support) and one to three passive skills. Some of these Eggs can hatch as Shiny Pokémon on rare occasions; these will always have three passive skills.

The chance of receiving an Egg after a battle can increase by including specific sync pairs on a team:

• Scottie/Bettie paired with a Pokémon of a matching type: increased by a factor of 0.8×
• Scottie/Bettie paired with any other Pokémon: increased by a factor of 0.4×
• Any other sync pair of a matching type: increased by a factor of 0.2×

Lastly, a limited-time Egg incubator gets added to Bellis's Lab for the duration of each event.

Bug-Type Egg Event

This event ran from July 20 to August 3, 2020. Players could obtain Eggs that hatch into Scyther, Pinsir, Venonat, or Weedle. Strike Scyther and Strike Pinsir could hatch as Shiny Pokémon.

Ice- and Fighting-Type Egg Event

This event ran from October 22 to November 12, 2020. Players could obtain Eggs that hatch into Lapras, Mankey, Seel or Machop. Tech Lapras and Support Mankey could hatch as Shiny Pokémon.

The event was originally scheduled to end on November 5, 2020; however, it was discovered that after updating to version 2.2.0, players could receive non-event Eggs from areas outside the event. As compensation for this bug, the duration of the event was extended, all players received 300 non-paid Gems, and players who had an active Eggcelerator Pass received an additional 300 non-paid Gems.

This event ran from July 16 to August 6, 2022. Players could obtain Eggs that hatch into Tyrogue, which would evolve into Hitmonlee, Hitmontop, or Hitmonchan based on their role. Tyrogue of any role could hatch as Shiny Pokémon.

The event reran from March 16 to March 30, 2024. The base chance of receiving an Egg from each battle was increased significantly, and the number of 3★ Berry Tarts received as a first-time reward for the final battle was decreased. Everything else was the same as the previous run.

Many Possibilities

This event ran from November 21 to December 5, 2023. Players could obtain Eggs that hatch into Eevee, which would evolve into Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, or Sylveon based on the type of their sync move. Eevee of any sync move type could hatch as Shiny Pokémon. All Eevee hatched during this event had the Tech role.

The event reran from November 21 to December 6, 2024, as part of the Eevee Day Celebration! Eevee Event. Everything was the same as the previous run.

• The Ghost- and Poison-Type Egg Event was the first Egg event:
  • To copy opponents from a previous Egg event, the Psychic- and Poison-Type Egg Event.
  • To have opponents with a weakness type (Psychic) that does not match any type listed in its event's title.
• The two versions of the Flying- and Psychic-Type Egg Event are the only name-matching Egg Events to share all their Egg Pokémon. None were added or removed for its rerun.
• Raise Tyrogue! was the first Egg event since the Fighting- and Bug-Type Egg Event to feature a unique set of opponents.
• Excluding the Daily Battle event The Golden Magikarp, Raise Tyrogue! was the only Egg event to have:
  • Only one species of Pokémon available in its Eggs that can be shiny no matter its role.
  • Three identical Trainers of the same class, Black Belt, as opponents.
• The first run of Raise Tyrogue! had the lowest chances of receiving an Egg from its battles of all Egg events, with its most difficult battle capping at a 44% chance. This could only be achieved by a team consisting of a Fighting-type sync pair formed by the player as well as two other Fighting-type sync pairs.
  • The second run increased the base chance of receiving an Egg for all battles, to the point that its most difficult battle has a higher base chance of receiving an Egg than any other Egg event.
  • If the chance of receiving an Egg had not been increased for the second run, the chance of receiving an Egg from its most difficult battle would have capped at 68%, as the version 2.27.0 update (released on November 28, 2022) had made it possible to have a team consisting of three Fighting-type sync pairs formed by the player. This would still be lower than the highest chance of getting an Egg in any other Egg event.
• The Karate King in Raise Tyrogue! giving the player Tyrogue Eggs is likely a reference to the fact that he gives the player a Tyrogue after being defeated in Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, and SoulSilver.
