Pokémon UNITE

In Pokémon UNITE, Avalanche is Alolan Ninetales's first move. It is obtained by evolving from Alolan Vulpix at level 4 and upgrading Powder Snow into it instead of Dazzling Gleam. The user attacks with a gust of chilly ice toward the designated direction. The ice damages enemies and forms a wall that can't be walked through. After a short time this wall melts and collapses, further damaging enemies in a radius around the wall. At level 11 or higher, the move decreases the movement speed of enemies for a short time when it hits. Due to the effect of Snow Warning, Avalanche slings snow and contributes to Alolan Ninetales freezing opposing Pokémon.

Description

Trivia

  • Due to being introduced at different times, Avalanche (Alud) and Rock Slide (Avalancha) have Spanish game version names that would be more accurate if swapped around.
  • In Generations IV and V, Secret Power has the animation of Avalanche when used on snow.
