The paper will primarily provide a short overview of the company and further study the mission, vision, and values of the Walmart incorporation. The paper does not explore the details of the values and behaviors that Walmart stands for, however, it will look into the elements that the incorporation believes in such as respect for individuals, strive for excellence and act with integrity as values that can relate to the human resource management and has an impact on retention of employee as well as turnover of employees. It will further study the literature review of the retention strategies and critical analysis of Walmart strategies followed by a conclusion. Walmart Inc. is an American corporation started in 1950 by Sam Walton as a single store in Bentonville of Arkansas state. It was established in 1962 and was officially incorporated in 1969. (Walmart, n.d) This incorporation, later, changed to a chain of stores around the world and holds the world's largest retailer in terms of revenue.
