Basically you just need to cut out a big square on the fold. You can do any dimensions you want to fit your pegs but mine's about 18 by 13 inches. Then mark where you want your pockets to sit and then cut two pocket openings. They're just diagonal cuts on either side of the fabric. The size of the apron and the pockets are fully customizable. Make them as deep or as shallow as you like. You can progress to the next step like this but I am going to decorate my fabric. I learned this technique from an Instagram reel. You basically are just sewing yarn onto your fabric. I used a straight stitch but I would definitely recommend using a zigzag stitch. I think it would just do a much better job. And I just pivoted so that I didn't have to keep trimming the thread which was awesome. I then double folded over my seam allowance on the pocket openings and stitched them down and I also mm hand stitched a little personalised name and date for my mum because it was a birthday present for her. And I thought that would be super cute. Then you just need to sew these seams down the two side seams and the top seam and finish them off with bias binding not the top seam. We're finishing that with a waistband. And this is that said waistband. Make it as long as you like. I personally like enough length so they can tie it at the front. And then close that down. I also decided to do a little decorative stitch. There you have it. The peg apron. My mum's had this design of peg apron for as long as I can remember because it is so functional and practical. I love it. I hope you love it. Thanks for following this tutorial and let me know if you make your own.
