HOMEMADE FLOUR TORTILLAS 4- Cups of all purpose flours 1 ½ - Teaspoons of salt 1 ½ - Teaspoons of baking powder 4 – Tablespoons of Crisco shortening 1 ½ Cups of warm water (it good use a little more water) Combine dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Cut in shortening. Make A well in the center and add water, a small amount at a time, to form dough. Knead dough about six minutes, and then put in bowl until smooth and elastic. Wet hands with warm water around the dough, set a side in a bowl, cover with dish towel for ten minutes. Form the dough into egg-sized balls and flatter between palms. With a rolling Pin roll each ball into 6 inch circle, about 1/8 inches thick into a 6 inch circle 1/8 Inch thick. Cook on preheated ungreased skillet over medium high heat, apprx Two minutes per side. Until tortilla looks slightly speckled. Cover with a clean Towel to keep warm and soft until served. The tortillas may be cooked and stored In a plastic bag.
